The Point of Pines Yacht Club encourages and promotes yachting, friendly relations and the mutual welfare of the residents of the Point of Pines. We have several membership types including; Active Boat Owners, Associate Boating Members and Associate Social Members. Please email (webmaster@popyc.org) or call the hotline (781.284.9717) to request more information.

There are 2 kinds of membership for boaters in our club, Full members and Associates.
Associates are the newer members that come into the club and get on a waiting list for a slip.
As the full membership changes, we draw from the Associate list based upon seniority and when
they have joined the club as Associates.
Right now the cost for Associates is $95 per foot for dockage.
The rate for dues is $75 per year.
If a boat has dockside power, there is a flat rate of $60 per season for electricity.
There is no charge for water.

Currently there are 50 full members that can pick slips for the 2011 boating season which leaves us 20 slips to give to the Associates.

The Associate list has about 20 names on it.  This list changes from year to year.  People drop out, move change jobs etc and the list changes.  Another thing that changes the list is the 10 hour work requirement.  During the course of the year, you have to do 10 volunteer work hours for the club as an Associate, full members have to do 35 hrs.  The obligation is very easy to make if you become involved in the club.  We launch the floats in the spring, which takes a couple of weekends and we take them out in the fall, in the same manner.

Also there are various other projects that the club has planned, all throughout the season.  In the lobby there is a list of projects and the name of the rear commodore who is in charge of work parties, please contact him to make your work hour obligation.  If you or any other member does not complete the work hours, you lose your seniority.

If you log onto our website: www.POPYC.org you will see what is happening on a regular basis.  The lounge is open Wednesday thru Saturday nights with food and drink for members.  We also have a Hot line phone number: 781-284-9717 with information updated on a regular basis.  The club also has recreational boating classes and Yoga available in the hall upstairs.
